Anoka-Ramsey Community College freshman Montez Wilkerson (Hopkins High School) was named the MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week for his performance in the Golden Rams' two weekend victories.
In his first collegiate game, Wilkerson scored a game-high 34 points on 13-18 shooting from the field including 8-11 from the three-point line. Wilkerson also had three rebounds and two steals in the 77-75 victory over Madison College.
The next night, Wilkerson scored a game-high 24 points on 8-19 shooting including 5-11 from the three-point line and 3-4 on free throws. He also pulled in a game-high nine rebounds to go with two assists and one steal against Milwaukee Area Tech.
For the weekend, Wilkerson averaged 29 points on 56.7% shooting and 59% from the three-point line.
Anoka-Ramsey is 2-0 on the season.
Their next game will be Tuesday, November 20th at home vs. Quakerdale Prep at 6:00pm.
