The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team remained undefeated with a win on Tuesday night over the Quakerdale Prep Eagles 86-76.
Defense was again a big key for the Golden Rams as it was in their previous game.
Quakerdale was held to just 37.7% shooting for the night including a 2-16 performance from the three-point line.
In the first half, Anoka-Ramsey held Quakerdale to just 35.3% from the field, however allowing eight offensive rebounds and committing seven turnovers kept the game close as Anoka-Ramsey led 36-30 at the break.
The Golden Rams opened a big lead early in the second half, going up by as many as 19 at one point, but the Eagles wouldn't go away quietly.
The Anoka-Ramsey lead was trimmed to as little as four points late in the game, but some key defensive stops and 12-16 free throw shooting in the second half kept Quakerdale at bay.
The Golden Rams held a 47-43 rebounding edge against the taller Eagles and knocked down eight three-point field goals compared to just two for Quakerdale.
Montez Wilkerson led the team in scoring with a game-high 23 points on 7-14 shooting including 4-9 from the three-point line. Wilkerson also pulled down six rebounds.
Perri Vaden led the charge on the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds including four on the offensive end to go with seven points.
Sam Willis scored 13 points on 5-8 shooting off the bench.
Lucas Barraud and Jon Conner each tallied 12 points.
Brian Sarvela contributed six points on 3-3 shooting and five rebounds, four on the offensive end.
