The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team put together an impressive performance in defeating the Fox Valley Technical College Foxes on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 6-0 in the first three minutes, the Golden Rams took control with a 12-0 run and never looked back, building a lead that would stretch as high as 40 points.
Anoka-Ramsey overcame the slow start by putting together their best defensive performance of the season after those first three minutes.
Fox Valley finished the first half shooting just 32.3% after hitting two of their first three shots. The Golden Rams entered the break with a 46-27 lead after a Fox Valley player hit an 85-foot shot at the first half buzzer.
The second half was more of the same as Anoka-Ramsey held Fox Valley to just 24.4% shooting in the final period.
The Golden Rams finished the game shooting 47.9% overall including 10-31 from the three-point line. This was the third time in their first four games hitting at least ten three-point field goals.
Anoka-Ramsey held a 56-39 edge on the boards and dished out a season-high 17 assists led by Perri Vaden's seven.
Montez Wilkerson led the Golden Rams in scoring for the fourth straight game with 18 points on 7-14 shooting to go with seven rebounds.
Also in double figures scoring was Matt Lanier (12 points) and Lucas Barruad (11 points).
Fourteen of the fifteen Golden Ram players scored at least one point with all fifteen recording at least one rebound.
Anoka-Ramsey is now 4-0 on the season.
Next up is a pair of road games against MCAC Northern Division opponents. The Golden Rams will travel to Central Lakes College on November 30th, then Fond du Lac Tribal and Technical College on December 1st.
