The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men’s Basketball team had their seven game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night, 88-83 at Riverland Community College.
It was the Golden Rams first game away from home in over a month.
Riverland jumped out to an early ten point lead just minutes into the game, but the Golden Rams were able to stage a run of their own to even the score about ten minutes into action. The lead changed hands multiple times in the half, but another late six point run propelled the Golden Rams to a 44-40 halftime lead.
Anoka-Ramsey was able to build a ten point lead early in the second half, but hot shooting by Riverland, combined with some missed opportunities for the Golden Rams, allowed Riverland to climb back into the game and eventually pull out the victory.
The 88 points were the most given up by Anoka-Ramsey this season as Riverland shot 49.2% for the game.
Trey Scott was the leading scorer for the Golden Rams with 19 points followed by Tyler Salkey (14), Richard Harmon (13), and Matt Fridberg (11).
Harmon also led the Golden Rams with ten rebounds, making it his first double-double of the season.
Anoka-Ramsey falls to 12-4 on the season, 1-1 in the MCAC. They travel to Fergus Falls on Saturday, January 15th to take on MSCTC-Fergus Falls starting at 3:00pm.
