The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team rode some hot shooting over 40 minutes to defeat Bismarck State College 111-83 on Friday night.
The Golden Rams scored on their first five possessions, three of them with three-point field goals, to open an early lead and never look back.
Anoka-Ramsey lead 51-39 at halftime by shooting 52.8% from the field including 8 of 18 (44.4%) from the three-point line. Bismarck made seven three-point shots in the half on 19 attempts but managed just 42.1% overall.
The second half started much like the first with Anoka-Ramsey controlling the offense while limiting Bismarck to mostly shots from behind the arc.
The lead grew to as many as 33 (100-67) as the Golden Rams shot 66.7% (22-33) in the second half.
For the game, Anoka-Ramsey shot a blistering 59.4% including 53.1% from the three-point line; making a season-high 17 three-point field goals.
Trent Pollard lead the scoring with 26 points on 8 of 12 shooting and 5 of 8 from the three-point line. He also dished out five assists.
Joe Lyons scored 25 points on 9 of 13 shooting and 7 of 11 on threes.
Lemuel Doe scored 23 points on 8 of 12 shooting while handing out seven assists.
Joey Weldon scored 19 points making 9 of 10 field goals to go with a game-high 15 rebounds.
Anthony Brama came off the bench to haul in a season-high nine rebounds.
The Golden Rams (entering the weekend ranked 10th in the nation) are now 9-1 on the season.
Anoka-Ramsey will face Vermilion Community College on Saturday at 5:00pm.
