Weldon Named Player of the Week for Third Time

Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball player Joey Weldon was named the MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Weldon earned the award by posting per game averages of 20.5 points, 15 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 2 assists while shooting 16 of 23 from the field in two Golden Ram victories last week.

In a 79-49 win over Riverland Weldon scored 19 points, hauled in 15 rebounds, and recorded six steals.

In the Golden Rams 83-71 victory over MSCTC-Fergus Falls Weldon scored 22 points and again pulled down 15 rebounds.

Weldon leads the nation in rebounding with 14.9 per game.

This is the second consecutive week that Weldon has earned the award.

The Golden Rams have had the last four Southern Division Players of the Week with Trent Pollard earning the award two weeks ago.

Anoka-Ramsey is 13-2 on the season and was #9 in the country last week; a new poll will be released tomorrow by the NJCAA.

The Golden Rams will face #2 ranked St. Cloud Technical and Community College (14-1) on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00pm on the Coon Rapids campus.
