Game Recap: Golden Rams Start MCAC Play 2-0

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team started conference play 2-0 this week, defeating Riverland 79-49 on Wednesday night and MSCTC-Fergus Falls 83-71 on Saturday afternoon. 

On Wednesday the Golden Rams jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by 20 at halftime and building a 33 point lead in the 2nd half. 

Riverland shot just 29.2% from the field including 3 of 22 from the three-point line. 

Anoka-Ramsey forced 18 turnovers and committed just six. 

Joey Weldon lead the way with 22 points and 15 rebounds. 

Trent Pollard scored 17 points. 

Joe Lyons finished with 14 points. 

Lemuel Doe recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. 

On Saturday afternoon the Golden Rams shot 52.6%, holding Fergus Falls to 37.9%. 

The Golden Rams also connected on 12 of 22 three-point attempts. 

Trent Pollard scored 17 of his 27 points in the first half, finishing 9 of 14 from the field and 7 of 10 from the three point line. 

Lemuel Doe scored 19 points to go with six assists. 

Joey Weldon scored 19 points and hauled in 15 rebounds. 

Anoka-Ramsey is now 13-2 overall. 

Next up is a home showdown with #2 ranked St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00pm.
