Two members of the 2010-2011 Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball Team signed letters of intent with Waldorf College to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Matt Fridberg, a 6’7” center, and Dan Konz, a 6’7” forward, were key members of last season’s Golden Rams squad that finished with a 22-8 overall record and took second in the NJCAA Region XIII tournament.
Fridberg, from PACT Charter school, averaged 7.9 points and 4.7 rebounds while starting all but one game for the Golden Rams. He also shot a team-best 62.8 percent from the field which was seventh best in the nation. Fridberg missed most of the 2009-2010 season with a knee injury but recovered in time to play a significant role in last season’s success.
Konz, from Andover High School, was third on the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game. He also led the team with 168 total rebounds; 5.8 per game. A skilled inside-out player, Konz was third on the team in made three-point field goals with 33 while shooting 37.9 percent from the three-point line. Konz spent the 2009-2010 season at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
