Darrington, Barrett Join Golden Rams

Anoka-Ramsey Head Men's Basketball Coach Ron Larson announced the recent signing of two additional players to letters of intent for the 2011-2012 season.

Antone Darrington and Corey Barrett join Lemuel Doe, Michael Stephens, and Jimmy Sauser as players who have signed with the Golden Rams this spring.

Antone Darrington – 2010 graduate of Brooklyn Center High School – 5’11” Point Guard
Accomplishments: Played the 2010-2011 season at Central College in Nebraska; started nearly every game at the point guard position; averaged 4.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals per game.
From the Coaches: “Antone will bring a lot of experience to our roster next season having played a year in a competitive league at Central.  He’ll be very good on the defensive end and cause a lot of problems for opposing point guards.  He has a high understanding of the game and knows how to get his teammates involved on the offensive end.  We’re excited to have Antone join us at Anoka-Ramsey.”

Corey Barrett – 2008 graduate of Patrick Henry High School – 6’9” Center
From the Coaches: “Corey is a long, athletic player with a lot of upside.  Despite being a little thin he posts up strong, isn’t afraid of contact, and has good touch around the basket.  He also has the ability to step out to 15 feet consistently as well as shoot the three on occasion.  He'll also provide a presence at the rim defensively.  He’s just scratching the surface of his potential as a basketball player and we look forward to helping him develop on and off the court.”
