The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team fell to 5-2 on the season with a 70-52 loss to Dakota County Tech on Wednesday night in St. Paul.
After taking an early 5-0 lead, things quickly fell apart for the Golden Rams as Dakota Tech took control midway through the half and eventually built a 37-24 lead by halftime.
Things didn't change much in the second half as the Golden Rams were never able to push the deficit below eight points.
While Dakota Tech was held to just 33.8% shooting, it was offset by the 28 offensive rebounds they hauled in compared to just 14 for the Golden Rams.
Anoka-Ramsey was outshot 74-49 in field goal attempts due to both the offensive rebound discrepancy and also the 25 turnovers committed by the Golden Rams.
Jon Conner scored ten points, Montez Wilkerson and Perri Vaden had nine apiece, and Joe Lyons chipped in with eight off the bench.
The Golden Rams are at home the next two weekends.
On Friday, December 7th they take on Vermilion Community College at 8:00pm. Vermilion comes in ranked #3 in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll. Then on Saturday, Anoka-Ramsey hosts Mesabi Range at 3:00pm.
The Golden Rams will host the ARCC Classic on December 14-15 as well with both men's and women's teams. A schedule of games will appear on the blog early next week.
