Antone Darrington Signs With Dakota State

Former Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball player Antone Darrington signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Dakota State University.

Darrington, a 5'11" point guard, started over half the games last season for a Golden Rams squad that finished 22-8 overall and placed third in the MCAC/Region XIII tournament. 

In his one season with Anoka-Ramsey, Darrington averaged 4.9 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.2 rebounds and was instrumental in leading a defense that allowed opponents to shoot just 37.2 percent on the season.

A graduate of Brooklyn Center High School, Darrington spent the 2010-2011 season at Central College in Nebraska and will have two years of eligibility remaining at Dakota State.

Dakota State is a NAIA Division II school located in Madison, South Dakota.  The Trojans finished 18-13 last season and qualified for the NAIA Division II National Tournament.

J.J. Butler Signs With Ashford

Former Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball player J.J. Butler signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Ashford University.

In his lone season with the Golden Rams, Butler averaged 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocked shots per game while logging a team-high 29.3 minutes per game.  Butler shot 46.6 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the three-point line connecting on 43 total three-point field goals.

A native of Fordyce, Arkansas, the 6'6" Butler was a MCAC All-Southern Division performer in 2011-2012 helping lead the Golden Rams to a 22-8 overall record and third place finish in the MCAC/Region XIII tournament.

Butler will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at Ashford.

Ashford University is a NAIA Division II school located in Clinton, Iowa.  A member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference, the Saints concluded the 2011-2012 season in a tie for second place in the MCC with a 12-6 conference record, 20-11 overall.
